Newland Church

All Saints Church Newland, traditionally and affectionately known as the ‘Cathedral of the Forest’, dates back to the early 1200s. King John appointed Robert of Wakering as first Rector in 1216. The original, rather smaller, building was expanded during the next two hundred years to the size and shape of the present church.

 

 

A2Wild Boar 

A pair of grazing boar in the woodland at Sutton Bottom. The Forest of Dean population is the largest of the breeding populations that now exist in England.

 

 

 

 

Puzzle WoA3od

The magical scenery of Puzzlewood has made it a popular location for filming including Star Wars, Dr Who, and Merlin. Symonds Yat

View the 3 counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire from a superb viewing point and if you are lucky you can spot the Peregrine Falcons.  Walk along the stunning River Wye over the Biblins Bridge and saunter back the other side alongside the rapids, otters, swans and leaping salmon.
